Released in 2008, Twilight dropped into a perfect cultural storm with Obama’s election, iPhones taking off, emo Tumblr in full swing, and the YA craze exploding after Harry Potter. Catherine Hardwicke’s film felt raw and indie with blue-grey filters, handheld cameras, and the emotional awkwardness of being seventeen. It wasn’t polished Hollywood fantasy; it was sincere and strange, which made it real to the girls and women who saw themselves in Bella’s clumsy intensity. The story of a human girl who falls for a vampire who might kill her, mixed romance, danger, and repression in a way that was both thrilling and uncomfortable. It gave us Edward’s brooding abstinence, Jacob’s rivalry, baseball in a thunderstorm, and that unforgettable line: “Hold on tight, spider monkey.” It was about longing, isolation, and the fantasy of being truly seen, a theme that shaped a generation’s idea of love.

You are impossibly fast and strong. You gotta gimme some answers. I’d rather hear your theories. I have considered radioactive spiders and kryptonite. It’s all superhero stuff, right? What if I’m not the hero? I want to find the bad guy. You know what you are. Your skin is hail white and ice cold. You don’t go out into the sunlight.

Say it out loud, say it. Vampire. Are you afraid? No, this isn’t real. This kind of stuff just doesn’t exist. It doesn’t my world. I always wanna try one thing.

All right, here we go. My name’s Todd Adams. And this is [00:01:00] Cathy Adams. Welcome back to another episode of Zen Pop Parenting. This is episode number, I’m not sure when, but I’ll be able to figure it out. What do you, what do you I just like us to give the number ’cause you always say, I don’t know. I know. And I don’t know it so I can’t make it up.

8 37 I think. Nice. Nice. On the, on the fly. And what is then Pop Parenting sweetie? It is where Gen X pop cul, gen X culture meets real life reflection. Here we go. Todd and I are nervous ’cause we’re using a new kind of, um, what is this? A new kind of recording device? Uh, yeah. Well we did, we used to do it on Zoom.

And Zoom isn’t very good when we. Post clips on, uh, of YouTube, the podcast on YouTube, zoom and music. And, uh, it just doesn’t work that well. So we’re using something called the script. So we’re giving it a try, but I think it’s gonna work out well. So, I think so too. I think the sound quality’s good. But anyway, we are so excited to be here and we are going to be talking about one of my favorite things to talk about, which is [00:02:00] twilight.

And look who’s here, Todd. Oh, Edward, if you’re on YouTube, you can see I have my Edward doll. You gotta see us on YouTube. And here he is. How long have you had that? Did you just buy that for the podcast? I didn’t buy this. Um, did it just show up? It was given to me in 2008. Okay. When the movie came out by my friend Laura.

Oh, that’s nice. And he has lived in my drawer with my curling iron and my blow dryer. There we go for now. What is that? It’s al That’s a long time. Yeah. And what do you think of the, uh, accuracy of like, really zoom in on that? Like what’s, I mean, I know this is a, I mean, not everyone’s on YouTube, but you can, we’re zooming in on my, he’s pretty good.

Pretty good. And gimme a profile. He’s, you know. Yeah. Okay. He doesn’t sparkle like he does in the movie, but, oh, we’re gonna talk about the sparkle. He’s wearing the really cool jacket, the gray jacket and the blue shirt. This is like quintessential Edward. Yes. And we are, today we are talking about Twilight.

We are not talking about New Moon. No. Or heck no. Eclipse [00:03:00] or breaking Dawn, because I think even without having any money to make this movie, ’cause they did not have a lot of money. I, I enjoy watching Twilight the most. Really? So of, of all of them. This is your favorite movie? Um, yes. Now there are, we are gonna get into it.

There are cringey painful parts in this movie. Oh. We’re gonna get into it. Um, but there’s just something that I think is, is special about it. Yeah. Compared to the others. Uh, especially Eclipse, because the makeup is bad. Bad, bad, bad, bad. Like you can just tell they just got a ton of makeup on where, like in twilight, they look more natural.

So they do, they do a better job early on with less money for the makeup, my opinion. All right. So, um, okay. So are we gonna set the scene? Let’s do it. All right.

All right. I’m gonna set the scene just ’cause I know you’re gonna be doing a [00:04:00] lot of talking. Yes, please. In this podcast you can go first with all the topics. Yeah. And there’s some categories that don’t, I don’t even have anything on. Okay. So, um, so, uh, this came out in 2008. Mm-hmm. Um, this came around the same time as Harry Potter.

Yeah. And Hunger Games hadn’t happened yet, but it was on its way. Yeah. And there’s just a lot of vampires, uh, true Blood Vampire Diaries and obviously Twilight. So I’m gonna, for people who didn’t watch this four days ago, like you and I did, um, this is the, we should have a, we should have a, a segment of AI generated summary.

’cause that’s all this is. Is it, is this, so this is AI language? Yes. So just read it as it is. ’cause AI uses funny words. Uh, Bella Swan. A misfit teen from misfit, like, who uses that word? She’s a misfit sweetie. She’s not a misfit. Oh my God. She’s such a mis misfit, sweetie. The misfit is from a Rudolph, the red nose.

Rain, rain, reindeer. I was gonna say ranger. [00:05:00] Um, you know the little guy, he’s, he sings, why am I such a mis. Fit. Um, Bella’s from Phoenix. Yes. She moves to forks, Washington. Yes. Where she meets the mysterious Edward Cullen. She sure does. Their intense romance, which we are gonna talk about. Uhhuh is complicated by Edward’s Secret.

We all have secrets, right? Yeah, I got him. You got him? Mm-hmm. His happens to be that he’s a vampire Mm. Who hasn’t aged since 1918. We should talk about what was going on in the world in 1918. He was still 17. He’s still 17 forever, and he lives on animal blood with his family. Mm-hmm. While Edward sees Bella as his long awaited soulmate, he struggles with the danger her presence stirs in him.

Mm. The forbidden love faces. Its greatest test when hostile vampires arrive, forcing Edward to fight for Bella’s life. It’s a modern Romeo and Julia tale of passion, danger, and the supernatural. I, that was not as bad as previous ai. Okay. Um, thing of a Jakes. So what do you have for [00:06:00] set the scene by darling?

Well, I guess I’ll just share a few things. Number one, like you said, it’s 2008. Obama had just been elected. Um, iPhones were just becoming a thing. Um, there’s a lot of emo culture. Uh, Tumblr was a big deal and like, what’s emo culture? Emo, you know, kind of like the way you dress and act. It’s like really moody and emotional and Oh, okay.

You know, the makeup and the, it was, you know, evil culture and the trends were, um, like. Like you said, young adult was a big deal. Ya. Yeah. You know, so that was like a huge craze. And um, it was a post buffy vampire resurgence because Buffy had been going on for a while, but then all of a sudden vampires all came back as they do, which is, you know, it’s the whole definition of a vampire.

Well, yeah. They just never leave. That’s very literal. But what I mean is on our show, Todd and I really wanted to, you know, it’s spooky season. That’s why we’re talking about twilight and twilight’s. Not scary, but we just thought it, or it’s not to me. Maybe. Maybe [00:07:00] some, it’s cringey scary sometimes. But we just wanted to talk about vampires and werewolves all in one shot.

Yeah. So we thought twilight is the best way to do that. Yeah. We only have four or five weeks in October. Exactly. So let’s just compress it. And by the way, in, maybe not under set the scene, but I have my list of my favorite vampires and my favorite. Werewolves werewolves. So just to know that’s coming. So again, you talked about ya exploding.

It was totally marketed to teen girls. I was not a teen, I was a new mom or a young mom. I had just had Skyler, but I loved some, I can’t remember who told me about Twilight First, who told me to read it. People were telling me to read it and I was like, yeah, whatever. And then finally it was probably Laura ’cause she gave me Edward.

Um, but she, I read it and I was like, I love this book. And it was kind of one of those like, where you’re, it’s not because it was so well written. Sorry Stephanie Meyer. It’s, it’s fine. It’s, but it just, it just brings you in to the family. Right. So I remember going to see the movie. Oh no, [00:08:00] that’s, remember when, let me just go on with, uh, ya.

So, um. It was just also the rise of the fandom internet. Like, you know, like I already said, Tumblr had started, fan fiction was becoming a thing. Do you know about fanfiction? Uh, I think it’s fiction for fans. It is, but basically what fanfiction is, is people take something that they love, like Twilight or like the summer I turn pretty or something.

They, or a book they really like or Game of Thrones or whatever. And then they write off of it. So they like take the information and then they like exaggerate it or expand the universe and so they write more fiction. So when you say they, are you talking about other authors? No, uh, writers, people online.

And they don’t have to be like trained writers or like, actually. People who have written books, it’s just, it’s fans, uhhuh, and they’re writing their own fictional accounts. So somebody who loves Twilight Is, is writing other stories between Edward and Bella and Jacob, correct. [00:09:00] Or and just putting ’em out online.

Yes. And so they’re either, you know, continuing that story or they’re pulling from the essence of Twilight, which is where 50 Shades of Gray came from. Yeah, right. Yeah. So we’ll talk about that later. But, you know, they’re just, that was kind of, um, the rise of, of all of that. So, um, and you know, there’s a lot here, but I think that, well, I’ll say this.

Katherine Hardwick directed this, and obviously Katherine is a woman. She directed a movie called 13, um, years previous to this. Do you remember? 13? No. It had Evan Rachel Wood, and um, Nikki Reed, who’s also in this movie, Twilight. And it was basically about them being 13. Being out on the town and being with guys.

And, um, Holly Hunter is Evan Rachel Wood’s mom. Mm-hmm. I’m surprised you don’t remember this movie ’cause we, we did talk about it. I love it when you’re surprised about things. I don’t remember. I know, I’m sorry. I just, I feel like we discussed it, but it’s kind of, it’s kind of an indie movie, [00:10:00] but it was quite the breakout movie for Kathryn Hardwick.

Anyway. She had a real clear aesthetic for this movie. And if, I don’t know if you’re going to remember this, but there, it’s almost like the movie is shot in gray and blue. Okay. You know, it’s like kind of a, um, it’s like a filter. It’s like a lot of closeups. It’s handheld camera and it, it, maybe, the reason I liked it is because it caught the mood Yeah.

Of the book. Okay. You know, so, um, you’re saying the director did a good job with limited budget that captured the essence of the book. And then when it did very well and it took off, um, they did not have her do the other movies. They had men do the other movies. I know. Yeah. We were gonna talk about that.

Are you ready for remember when? Let’s go. I remember when

you couldn’t wait. All right, so I don’t know how to fit these things I wanna talk about, so I’m just gonna fit ’em in to remember when. Okay. All right. So there’s two different people, two different [00:11:00] consumers of this movie, okay. One is a consumer like me who never read the book, who has no interest in reading the book and just observing the movie in a very standalone way.

Okay. And then there’s the people that have read the book and I, I’m waiting to find the person. People always say the book is better. Mm-hmm. Which it should be because there’s more description and you Yep. More in depth. You, you, you can experience the book not through the lens of the director or the actors.

You can just experience the book through your own mind as you wanna see it. Yep. So I get that. So, um, my, my question is, um, so you curious about how I was going to talk about this movie on this podcast? Mm-hmm. And I guess I’ll just leave, let the cat outta the bag. It’s a, it’s a, it’s an okay movie. Okay.

All right. It’s not terrible. No. Um, you know, I know that Twilight was in the stratosphere for a long time. Mm-hmm. So obviously it’s hard to keep those [00:12:00] expectations low. Um, so it’s, it’s a, it’s an average movie and I have a feeling if I loved the book and enjoyed the book, I would probably like the movie more.

But just as a standalone movie, it’s, it’s fine. There’s nothing great or bad about it. I think that’s fair. Yeah. You know, I think that you don’t, uh, to your point, you don’t come into the movie with the. Knowing all the characters and you know, having read it and you also don’t come in with the same kind of, I think there’s a very feminine desire kind of part of this book and movie Sure.

That I’ve tried to explain to Todd a number of times, and I, when I say tried, I don’t mean he as an understood, but it comes up, you know, occasionally about why, um, why women or young girls tend to like this. Mm-hmm. Um, and, and to me it makes perfect sense and I don’t think it’s a big mystery. Right. I, you know, it, it’s because Bella is like this normal [00:13:00] person and this guy who happens to be really attractive and just really all these things pale, pale skin and all pale skin and all is obsessed with her now.

I wanna be really careful with that because not all obsession is good or healthy, and that can be a red flag in real life. Oh, well we’re gonna talk a little bit about Edward’s obsession. Yeah. So there are, you know, we have parameters here that we’re gonna try and stay with him, but it’s this feeling of having someone be like, I mean, he literally says to her, you don’t know how long I’ve waited for you.

Right. That is something that. Is very nice to hear. Yeah. You know, I mean, it’s, it’s something where you’re like, oh my gosh. E even though the first time they lay eyes on each other, he, what does he do? The, he puts his hand in front of his nose. Yeah. Because she smells so enticing. Mm-hmm. To him. Mm-hmm. Yeah.

Um, and I guess vampires, they have a better sense of smell than us humans, I’m guessing. Well, they are, they smell humans. Like you smell like barbecue food. Yeah. Like steak. Yeah, [00:14:00] that makes sense. So they’re so, but she’s, especially, yeah, especially, he wants to, he wants to drink her blood and he’s struggling to, not in the same way.

I want to eat that ribeye steak. And let’s go, let’s go deep on that. We’re, it’s a little early with rolling in the deep, but I’m gonna do it anyway. She, he’s a vampire in the, in the movie. And so we’re taking it at face value. He wants to bite her neck and drink her blood, but he is attracted to her. Yeah, right.

That kind of, you know, that’s, it’s, it’s one of those feminine things where it’s like someone, they can’t even, they think about you all the time and they’re like so into you. Yeah. And not in the scary stalkery way. Yeah. So you’re saying there, there’s two things going on Uhhuh. One is, vampires love blood.

Right. And she, her blood smells good, it’s exceptionally good. And he’s also just like, this is my soulmate. He’s like, why does she smell so good? Yeah. Okay. And everybody else in his family knows she smells good too, but he’s like, really? Attracted to her. Okay. [00:15:00] But it’s confusing to him. So I, I think one of the things that I think is why people love this movie mm-hmm.

Or this book, or these characters, is, there’s nothing extraordinary about Bella. Right. She’s just a normal girl. She’s a normal girl. They try in the book, they do a better job. Stephanie Meyer does a better job explaining how clumsy she is. Yeah. I think in the movie they’re kind of trying to wedge it in a little bit.

Okay. Like all of a sudden she’s walking out. Yeah. They don’t, they don’t have time to, yeah. Kinda explain all that stuff. So they have a few scenes where they’re like, oh, Bella trips, you know, but she’s supposed to be kind of a clumsy. Young, you know, 17-year-old girl. Yeah. Okay. Who’s like normal. Um, the other thing, and this is kind of a grander thing, is that there is I think an uncool factor to Twilight for a guy like me.

Of course. Course in the same way there’s an uncool factor to the Backstreet Boys, correct? Right. It’s, yes. So like this is through that same lens is, it’s not cool to like twilight unless you’re like a teenage girl. Uh, I would say that’s fair. And I just wanna like [00:16:00] draw the correlation between um, like what you like and you are a 50 some odd year old woman and you love this and it’s okay that you love this.

And people actually, I think what you said about Backstreet Boys, and I think you might even say it about Twilight, is people like this more than they’re willing to admit. Yeah. Would you agree with that? And this is the thing I just wrote about this whole thing, this whole Taylor Swift thing last week.

Yeah. Um. It. People will tell you, this is good, so you should like it. This isn’t good, so you shouldn’t like it. You shouldn’t enjoy this because it’s not written well, you should. I mean, Stephanie Meyer got that a ton. She’s the author of the book, like, you’re not a good writer. So people shouldn’t like this.

Everyone’s got such a strong opinion. Yeah, and when this book came out, or book and movie came out, that’s when we were definitely in the heart of the era of, like I said, Tumblr and everything and social media. So it was, everyone had a strong opinion and I think [00:17:00] there are just things that. If it’s enjoyable.

And to me, it’s not like I love twi. I mean, I was just about to say, and I, it’s not like I have Twilight stuff in my house yet. I do have Edward. Um, but I, it’s not that I’m obsessed with it, it’s that I enjoy it. Sure. I get it. I have a part of me that is very teenage and that will always be, yeah. I love pop culture.

I love what’s new. I love artists. I love music. A lot of us do. This isn’t Kathy. It’s just my whole point is, is that I love digging into things that everybody loves. Yeah. And sometimes it doesn’t work for me. I never watch Game of Thrones. Mm-hmm. You know, I, I, there are certain book series I’ve never walked, uh, corn, uh, the Thorn and Roses books and all the, like, flowers in the attic.

No, that’s Whatcha talking about the, there’s all, there’s these book series that everybody’s reading and I’m not into everything. It’s just right. I enjoyed Twilight when it came out and because we’re in, remember when, um, I, like I said, I had read the book and [00:18:00] then I remember we had gotten home from some trip or something and I was like, I have to watch this movie and it’s in the theaters right now.

Like, I was kind of late to the party. Yeah. And I found out it was only playing one place, which was in Rosemont at Movie Co. And it was only, um, playing it two times. Yeah. And I had to like, get in the car and go. And unfortunately I had a headache during the movie. Oh, that’s terrible. But it didn’t keep me from really enjoying it ’cause I had just finished the book.

Right. And so, um, it was kind of a, um, it, it just, it brought me into the world because there was so much more to go. I had other books to read. Um, you know, it, it continued just like the summer I turned pretty just like other, you know, stranger things just like other, you know, things that we get involved in.

Um, it’s so enjoyable when you’re like, I have another season or another movie or another book to go. Yeah. Isn’t that, it’s so fun. Yeah. Do you have anything like that? You really don’t. Sports, I guess. Yeah. And, and I, so you [00:19:00] can relate to that from a sports perspective. You know, there’s another game or there’s another season, or who’s gonna be, you know, when I’m like, who are they gonna cast in this role?

You’re like, what pitcher are we gonna get for next season? For sure. It’s the same kind of vibe and it’s not, it’s totally pop culture. It’s totally pleasure. It’s not serious. Yeah. Um, but it’s enjoyable. And one thing that we did not mention about Bella was part of the reason Edward is also confused about Bella, besides the way she smells, is he can’t read her mind.

And Edward, one of his gifts as a vampires, he can read everyone’s mind. Mm-hmm. So he’s very confused. To why he can’t tap into her mind. So that’s another reason why he thinks she’s special, because he can read everybody else’s mind. And the fact that he can’t read her mind is like, oh, this is interesting.

He’s, it frustrates him. Yeah. Okay. And it makes him more obsessed with her. So I quickly wanna just run through some of the characters, not like spend any time on it. Sure. But we got Kristen Stewart who plays Bawan Uhhuh. And by the way, I’m kind of sick of the Bella belly thing that we’ve been talking about.

Okay. Enough of the bells. Enough [00:20:00] Isabel’s? Yes. Yes. Okay. We got Robert Pat Paton, Pattinson Pattinson, Edward Cullen. Mm-hmm. Uh, he’s 108 year old vampire who’s changed in 1918. Maybe you can Was does it mean to be changed, sweetie? Oh, well that’s when Carlisle bed him. So let’s talk a little bit about that.

Okay. ’cause you need to explain this to me. Mm-hmm. Uh, a vampire might suck your blood and kill you and just drink all your blood and you die. Uhhuh or a vampire might change you. So what they would do, there’s two different things. Per twilight lore. ’cause remember every vampire story has a different, you know Yeah.

Like for example, they’re not afraid of garlic and they’re not afraid of crosses. Yeah. You know what I mean? So there, it’s just different depending on your, um, I actually think that Twilight borrowed a lot from interview with the Vampire and Rice’s books, but that’s just my perspective. Okay. Okay. So basically what you can do is if you are a vampire, you can either, so vampires listen up Okay.

In case you don’t know how it works. Okay. Everybody, um, a vampire [00:21:00] either bites you and drinks all your blood until you die. Like your heart stops beating. Yeah. Or they bite you and drinks some of your blood and then leave you as your heart is still beating, and then the venom in your body got it, takes over and makes you a vampire.

Got it. Okay. And that’s called turning. Yeah. So you’ve been turned so, so Carlisle. Uh, Edward D was sick. He had Spanish flu. Yeah. And I think his family, if I, and again, I haven’t gone back to the book, but I think his family had died from it as well, and Carlisle was his doctor and felt like he should have had more of a chance to live.

And Carlisle was played by Peter Elli, correct. And he’s 300 years old. Yes. He’s a 300 year old vampire. It’s basically Carlisle’s family. He created all these, and then we got Esme, Uhhuh, Esme, we got Alice. And these are all part of the Carl, the the Cullen clan. The Cullen Clan. Mm-hmm. We got Alice Uhhuh. We got Emmett.

Mm-hmm. And then we got Rosalie. Yep. And then is Jasper part? Yeah. Jasper, yes. Mm-hmm. And then, uh, and now we, we get [00:22:00] Charlie, Charlie is Bella’s dad, who hopefully we’ll talk about. Mm-hmm. And then the three bad guys are Victoria, Lauren, um, Laurent. Laurent. Mm-hmm. And who’s the James And James, yeah. Okay. And then also her friends.

Are, um, meaning Bella’s friends? Yeah. At school are, uh, Jessica, who is Anna Kendrick. Mm-hmm. Um, then Oh, Bella’s mom is Renee. Mm-hmm. And then, uh, Angela is another one of Bella’s friends. And then Mike who, the guy who asked her to prom. Yep. That’s, and then Eric. Yeah. And I don’t know why they went with Renee and Reme.

It’s a little confusing for me, dude. What? You’re not putting it together. They used both of their mom’s names. Renee and Esme. Reme. Renee is Bella’s mom. Mom. Esme is, is who is, uh, Edward’s mom, Carlisle’s wife. Got it. So they use both their mom’s names, Renee and Esme, and [00:23:00] became rename Got it. Uhhuh, um, or Nessie.

As Jacob calls her. Okay. There’s a lot going on because yeah, it just says Esme Cullen. Correct. That is Carlisle’s. I mean, Carlisle turned Esme as well, but they are of the same age. Yeah. So they are partners. So everyone in the family is partnered except Edward. So Rosalie and Emmett are partnered. Okay.

And Jasper and Alice are partnered. Okay. And then Edward is alone. He’s, and he is been alone for a hundred and Yes. Eight. He’s been alone a long time and the guy just needs a mate. And he, and, you know, in the world of, in this mystical world. There is someone for everyone and he’s just been waiting for her patiently.

I might add, and again, I said we weren’t gonna talk about the other books, but I wanna just put out there, there are reasons why he’s been waiting for her. We just don’t know what those are yet. Okay. Uh, Bella is very different as a human than she [00:24:00] is when she becomes a colon. Can you say in a sentence what makes her different as a human?

Um, because these movies have been all out a long time. Well, as a human, she’s very clumsy and normal and a teenager and quirky and uncomfortable. Like Kristen Stewart’s kind of annoying in the movie, but I think she’s kind of playing her the way that she’s supposed to. Yeah. You know, which is kind of like uncomfortable and inner skin and everything.

Bella is an amazing vampire when she becomes a vampire. Sorry to spoil. Yeah, we can spoil. Okay. She’s got all sorts of skills that are beyond, and so she’s kind of a, um, like so is she a better vampire than anybody in the cullins? Absolutely. Well, I mean, that’s all relative, but she has skills. Can she run as fast as everybody?

Yes. Mm-hmm. Okay. Mm-hmm. I just wanna make sure we’re talk about the running, but she has a special skill where she can protect people around her. Yeah. And again, people can’t read her mind like she’s got things that are exceptional. Yeah. And she’s a better va, so you can kind of, it, it’s purposeful that they met.

Yeah. [00:25:00] Um, I decided to describe Edward and Bella and I gave three words each. Okay. And you can, uh, make up your own three words or you could tell me that I’m wrong. Okay. Edward, I got, even though this is two words, I’m using it as one. He always seems like he’s in pain. He is. He is in pain and he, emotional pain, his facial expressions.

I just feel like this guy is just in pain. And if you were to read his version, so there is a ver there’s a book called Midnight Sun. Yeah. That is twilight. But through Edward’s, Edward Edward’s eyes, he is in so much pain all the time. Yeah. So I, I could tell. So good job acting. Okay. Yes. The next was creepy.

Oh, okay. And then the third word is intense. Okay. Intense. Creepy. He is a little creepy. Is he? I mean, he’s kind of, I. Tracking her in a way that, I know he wants to keep her safe, but he’s creeping. He’s, but he’s not creepy. Well, he’s watching her sleep at night without her knowing. Um, true. It’s a little creepy.

He’s [00:26:00] creeping but creepy without her consent. True. But someone who is creepy is like someone who is like, oh, keep that person away from me. And that’s not how anyone feels about Edward. So he’s not creepy. He’s just, he’s a creeper. He’s got a quick creeping, the three words for Bella delusional. Oh, I’ll explain why.

Okay. Ungrounded and annoying. Oh boy. Yikes. Yeah. Here’s, I was gonna save this for later. Okay. But the whole idea at the end of this movie, she wants to get turned Yes. By Edward. Mm-hmm. She’s ready just to give up her whole life as a human being. Todd, she’s in love. She loves. If sweetie, if this is gonna be good, if you are a vampire Uhhuh.

And I loved you, Uhhuh. I’d be, I, I’d have to think a little bit to still up to 23 years. No, but sweetie, they’ve been dating a month. But it’s, it’s true love. I’m saying, sweetie, if we’re dating a month and you’re like, Hey, guess what? I’m gonna make you a vampire and you’re gonna like [00:27:00] give up your humanity.

Right. I don’t know if I’d be like, all in the way. Bella was. Yeah. Yeah. I’d have to think a little bit before I did that. Okay. Let me give you some info. Okay. Bella’s mom is, she’s is kind of flighty herself and is with a new guy and they’re traveling around. ’cause her boyfriend that she’s or her fiance, he’s a, um, baseball player, an ump or a baseball player.

He’s, he’s works for baseball, whatever. He works for baseball. He’s a minor league baseball player. He’s a minor league baseball player. And then her dad is Charlie and he’s clueless. I mean, we’re gonna talk about Charlie. He’s so clueless and otherwise she doesn’t really have any friends except these new friends at school that she’s known like, you know, for two weeks.

Yeah. Or whatever. So it’s not like she’s like, this life I’m living. Is so incredible. Life isn’t that great for her. No. And and I don’t, I don’t think she’s miserable. I just think when you’re like, she’s gonna give up everything in her 17-year-old brain, she’s like, what? Like, and it’s not as if she’s gonna give up everything.

She’s gonna give up her [00:28:00] humanity. Um, but she can still see her dad and mom. She’s not gonna be able to eat french fries anymore. That’s, that’s a big deal. That’s, that’s true. She’s not gonna be able to go back to her house. True. And see her mom. Well, she does do that as a vampire. She just hangs out with her dad.

This is part of the suspension of belief because Yes. Okay. Her, they meet Rene, me and such. Okay. All right. Okay. Um, so do you wanna give any descriptors for, I’m catching you off guard so you don’t have to do that. Oh, I don’t mind being All right. You know, you can catch me off guard. So gimme three words to describe Oh, you want me to do that?

Well, that’s what I’m asking. No. Okay. I don’t wanna do that. I will give you my top five favorite vampires. Let’s hear it of all time. Yep. Okay. You ready? Actually, I have six. Okay. Okay. But he’s really only a half vampire. Okay. So, um, I actually sent you a theme Yep. From a movie. Uh, Uhhuh. And do you know which one I’m talking about?

Yes, I do. So play that. Is it this one right here? Mm-hmm. Let me turn. Well, I don’t know. I can’t see. Yes, yes, [00:29:00] yes.

So everybody, I had to show Todd the Lost Boys. He had never seen it before. Yeah. And by the way, I like Twilight better than the Lost Boys. Oh, interesting. Yeah. Okay. So The Lost Boys, that’s about vampires. Um, and I like Michael, who is a half vampire because he does get bit, or, and, and he drinks the blood, um, that Keer Sutherland gives him.

David, I think is his name. And so he starts to become a vampire. He starts flying and, and you know, his brother Corey, Corey Ham or whatever is like, you’re, you’re a vampire now. But he doesn’t make it all the way because they break the spell. Yeah. You know, as they do. So Michael is my, um. My sixth. Okay. Do we wanna talk about Cory Feldman at all?

Sure. Yeah. Should I play the thing that you did? What did I send you? I can remember you sent me a Cory Feldman in concert. Oh, don’t play it [00:30:00] yet. Okay. Okay. This is my quick Cory Feldman. My Corey and Cory. And my friend Nora listens to this show and she and I talk about the Coreys a lot. Okay. Cory Feldman and Cory Ham were in a lot of eighties movies together.

Okay. And, um, the Lost Boys was one of ’em. Uh, Cory Ham, unfortunately he passed away, but Cory Feldman is still out there doing his thing. And he was highly influenced by Michael Jackson when he was young. So he still dances like Michael Jackson all the time. But this other thing that he does is he, he, he’s in concert a lot.

Like he has concerts, but he doesn’t have his own music. No. So he sings the theme songs from all the movies he was in. Love it. So like that’s what I would do. He will sing that song. Yeah. That we just played. He will sing. There was this other movie that he was in called Dream A Little Dream with Cory Hamme and also also Meredith Salinger.

Yep. Who’s now married to Pat Oswald. And there is this Michael Damian song called, I think it’s called Hey, rock and Roll. Rock and Roll. Rock on Rock. And that’s a [00:31:00] Michael Damian song. But Cory Feldman goes out on the road, does his, Michael Jackson moves and sings this song. Here we go. Blesses her. Cory.

Cory.

Oh, Cory. All right. So I got a, hi. Hold on. I got, I got some hot tape. You, you got a Corey Feldman take, uh, I gotta go over here. Boy, it’s hot. This is hot. This is really hot. Hot. This hot and broke. Are you ready for my hot take? I am. Let’s hear it. Um, I used to love making fun of Corey Feldman. Okay. And then I listened to an interview between him and Billy Corrigan on Billy Corgan’s podcast like three months ago.

Okay. And first of all, he knows that most people make fun of him. Aw, that’s, that’s, and he also says, F it. I’m gonna do this anyway. So all of a [00:32:00] sudden, because I heard him talk. He’s just like a, a person I know. And I, I don’t, I don’t wanna make fun of him as I would have had I not heard that podcast. So I guess I just wanna say, Corey, I secretly made fun of you because by the way, you’re in one of my favorite movies of all time.

Stand by Me. Yes. And he’s just a guy who’s saying, I don’t care that you guys are making fun of me, I’m gonna do this anyways, you know what? I so honor that Todd, and I don’t think that I am, have ever tried to be cruel when talking about Cory Feldman. I, he’s actually was just on Dancing With the Stars.

Yeah. Like, he’s still out there doing his thing. I don’t wanna be cruel. It’s just sometimes like he pops up in my TikTok and he’s doing, he’s like at a fair, yeah. In like, well in, in this video there’s prob, it’s like in a little bar there, 10 people. There’s like 10 people there. To your point, Hey, at least he’s living and doing his thing.

But the Michael Jackson thing is a little, you know? Yeah. And I outdated. Yeah. And he, and he’s been accusing Hollywood, like there’s some, right. [00:33:00] Well, and here’s, here’s my deep thought, then we’ll move on to my next vampire. He has been, he and Corey were both abused. Yes. Both CO’s The cos. And there’s actually a movie called The Two cos that I have seen.

It’s documentary. Of course you have, or actually it’s not documentary, it’s people are acting. Yeah. Um, they were abused and they have been trying to talk about it or the, you know, Corey Feldman has, and he keeps thinking that people are like, like he was gonna show this documentary about it and that day that he was gonna show it, all the lights went out and someone like stole the movie and he’s like, I can’t show it because I’m being preyed upon it.

It’s a big thing. I don’t know what’s true or not, but they did, he did accuse Charlie Sheen of abusing Cory Ham on the set of Lucas. Interesting. I, we just watched Charlie Sheen’s, um, documentary and they bring it up to him like, do you have any response? And he’s like, no. Fabricated, right? Fabricated. So I don’t know Corey Feldman’s story.

I just know that he shows up on my TikTok and, and then [00:34:00] he sings the songs from the movies he was in. And, yes, that’s all. Okay. Who’s your next Vampire? So that was number six, Michael. Number five is Count Chocula. Oh, interesting. Do you like count Chocula? Uh, I think I was more of a frankenberry person. Hmm.

Uh, but what do you like about Count? Count Chocula? Well, he’s just a childhood friend, you know? I don’t even know if I ever got Count choa. It’s just when I see the box. Yeah. You know, Frank and Barry’s, do they still have that in the grocery store? It, it, sometimes they do it as a, like a throwback because people our age would buy it.

For their kids and be like, you gotta try this count. Cho scared. I’m the super sweet monster with the super sweet new cereal count. Cho is the super sweetness cereal. Franken Berry and then there’s BooBerry BooBerry. That was the last one. Yeah. And BooBerry is really cute. Kind of reminded me of Casper a little bit.

He was a sweet little ghost. Um, and then I think it’s hilarious. Cut Chocolate. Made your list. Yeah, go ahead. And number four is Count Von Count. Who’s that from? Sesame Street. Oh, love that guy. [00:35:00] Von two three. Do you know who loved the count? Is David from Love on the Spectrum? Remember? Oh, he did. He did. Um, and then they got to be on Sesame Street with the count.

I gotta give you a little bit. Ah, yes. All greetings in desire to count and it’s time to answer that fascinating question. What is the Sesame Street number of the day? Ah, ah, ah, ah, ah. Let’s count the um, as a kid Count was not my favorite, but I think as I grow older, I kind of appreciation for count on Count.

He was not my favorite. Snuffleupagus was my favorite. But in the world of vampires, snuffle Leus really your favorite. Yes. He was everybody’s favorite. You couldn’t No. Was nobody saw him, was he? Most certainly was. Not everybody’s favorite because, well, he’s mine. I’m part of everybody. And as a kid, because remember, he and Big Bird were best friends.

And then I can name you five Sesame Sea Street characters better than snuffle. Up from our childhood or [00:36:00] from our girl’s childhood. From, I can give you three off the bat. Okay. Ernie Cookie and Grover. Boom. Okay, well, I agree with that. A lot more personality than Snuffle. Leus. Oh, I love Snuffle Snuffle.

Snuffle. Leus was more of like, um, let me see if I can put it to a sound. No, that I don’t agree. He was sweet and he was, um, big Bird’s best friend and reminds us of our rabbit. Um, yeah, Gus. He looks like Gus. Yeah. Okay. So my number three vampire Yeah. Is Nanor. Oh my God. From what we do in the shadows, love Nando.

Every vampire on what we do in the shadows is awesome. Yeah. And you know, especially what, when, what’s the guy, when he puts a toothpick in his mouth and he becomes Jackie, whatever, uh, yeah. What is? Um, but anyway, what we do in the shadows is great. But Nanor has always been my favorite empire, which meant a lot of killing.

That was relentless. They would call me Nando the Relentless [00:37:00] because I just never relent. He is Nando The Relentless. That is a funny show. He, and he’s, he was my favorite from the beginning. I was like, this is my guy. So number two mm-hmm. Is from the Anne Rice books, uh, Lestat, uh, who is, um, or Lestat.

Here’s the hard thing about books is like, you read it the way you read it in your mind. I think in the movie they say Lestat. Mm-hmm. But he in the movie is played by Tom Cruise. Um, Anne Rice wasn’t super happy about that casting, but I was okay with it. He did a pretty good job. Um, you wanna hear a little?

Sure. It’s so easy. You almost feel sorry for them.

We will get used to killing. Just forget about that mortal coil. You’ll become customer of things all too quickly.[00:38:00]

This is a dark joke. Oh, and he is talking to Brad Pitt. Well correct, because Brad Pitt. Plays Louie and Louie, um, does not wanna be a vampire. He’s basically Edward, but from a different time. All right. And he wants to drink blood from rats. Who doesn’t? And there’s, yeah, I, I go to deer, you know, the, the Collins go to deer.

Mm-hmm. I mean, rats, it’s, you gotta eat a lot of rats. I know. To make up the amount of blood from one deer. I know. And talk about being in pain, like Brad Pitt is in so much pain through the whole movie. Okay. So, and then my number one is our guy Edward. He’s my favorite vampire. Gotta love Edward. I know he shimmers in the sun.

He does. Um, so don’t forget to ask me later about my favorite werewolves. Uh oh. We are gonna do that for sure, sweetie. Okay, good. Hold on. Let’s see. I don’t know if we can hear. Let’s see. I know what you are.

Say it, say it[00:39:00]

out loud. Out loud. Say it. Why won’t he say it? Right. It’s the scene is cheese. I mean, I I if you noticed while we were watching, I was kind of looking away. Yeah. Because I don’t know why she needs to say it. Oh, you know what? I did not send you that. I should have what? Um, so that’s scene. Yeah. Was pared on Saturday Night Live?

Yep. And Taylor Swift was Bella. Mm-hmm. It was when she was hosting and Bill Hader was Frankenstein. And so it was the exact same thing. But they did it that he was Frankenstein. I’m looking right at it. Oh my God. It was very funny. But it’s two and a half minutes. Well maybe just cut to, just a cut to

Why won’t you kiss me? ’cause when I kiss people, I tend to accidentally choked under death. I [00:40:00] want you to try.

What’s wrong? We found an old blind man. Strangled to death. Looks like it was an accident. Strangled. It’s Will Forte being Charlie. Um, so people should go look at that. Yeah. ’cause that made me laugh. Um, that was from a long time ago. Um, are we ready for the next category? Let’s go. Jerry, do you know the human head aways eight pounds?

Jerry, do you know the human head aways eight pounds? All right, I’m gonna start out. Okay. Random facts. I’m just gonna rattle through ’em. Go. Um, and this should probably go in, uh, I’m gonna save that for WTF. Okay. Um, Catherine Hardwick had the biggest opening weekend ever for a female director. Wow. Uh, Stephanie Meyer has a cameo in it.

Yeah. She’s in the diner scene. Yeah. Typing on a laptop. Mm-hmm. Uh, Nikki Reed was the one who got the producer’s. Who’s Nikki Reed. Any idea? Yeah. Nikki Reed was, uh, the girl she plays Rosalie. Okay. One of the actresses, uh, who got the producers to add Robert Pattinson’s song to the film. Mm-hmm. Reed secretly started recording him.[00:41:00]

From her laptop while he was singing and playing his guitar and filming breaks, she then took it to the director of producers where they fell in love with his songs. The next day they asked Rob if he could record a few of his songs for the soundtrack, and he relu reluctantly accepted. Sorry, I can’t, I can’t, um, talk that well.

Yeah. He has two songs in the film. One is playing in the background when they are at the restaurant when he and Bella, when she orders the mushroom ravioli. Yep. And there’s a song that plays behind. And then the song, when Bella is, I’m putting this in our quotes, but dying. Yeah. After she’s bit by James.

Um, his, that’s also Robert Pattinson’s voice, and that song is, I think, called, let Me Sign. Um, around the one hour and 45 minute mark while entering the building at the Prom, Victoria can be seen at a slot machine to the right of Bella. Oh, I didn’t know that. Um, that’s a hidden gem, sweetie. Yeah. I should have saved it for that.

MTV’s uh, early script was wildly different. Bella with shotguns and vam [00:42:00] vampires killed her dad. So they really What? Mt What do you, what do you mean? So there was some guy, his name was Mark Lord, who bought the rights and wanted to really modify stuff. Oh, Stephanie Myers got it. Um, and then really blah, blah, blah.

That’s all I got. What do you got for random facts? Um, well we already talked about Catherine Hardwick and all of that. Um, let’s see. So one thing I’ll say about why it was a big deal when they got other directors to direct the rest of the movie’s, new Moon and, um, eclipse, and then there was, they broke Breaking Dawn in half is the tone changed all the, like, the vibe, the aesthetic of Twilight was really moody.

And, and again, I think why I liked it. Mm-hmm. And, and then all of a sudden it became super polished and you could see everyone so clearly. And again, that’s a problem because you can see they’re wearing really white makeup. Yeah. Like, I, I don’t understand with all the money and equipment that they had, why it looked so bad, it [00:43:00] just wasn’t raw enough.

Um, and then that like. Feminine intensity that we kind of felt, or I felt in the first one it became more conventional. Mm-hmm. You know, where I was kinda like, uh, like I literally have only seen Eclipse like twice ’cause I don’t like it. Yeah. Like I, and you know, it’s just not well done. So, um, let’s see. Uh, one of the things, I kind of already mentioned this, but the whole casting of Nikki Reed as Rosalie was kind of a big deal because again, because Catherine Hardwick came over to do Twilight, she knew Nikki Reed from the time because Nikki Reed wrote the movie 13.

When she was 13. Interesting. Okay. So she was kind of a prodigy and was like, you know, and Catherine Hardwick helped her bring this story to life and so. People had a hard time with the casting. ’cause Nikki Reed actually has very dark hair and is, you know, I don’t know what her nationality is, but she looks Italian or Greek or like me, you know what I mean?

Yeah. Like brown hair and brown eyes. And Rosalie is supposed to be like a supermodel who’s [00:44:00] blonde. Hmm. Right. And she’s supposed to be so ridiculously beautiful. She was as a human. And then when she got bit, and unfortunately Rosalie has the most traumatic story. Mm. She was actually sexually assaulted. Mm.

And then, um, bit And that was not what, you know, she had no choice in the matter. She was traumatized. Yeah. And, um, that’s why she’s so pissed that she’s a vampire. Did you notice how Rosalie’s always mad? She’s the one who breaks the glass. Okay. You remember? And she’s like mad at Bella and whatever. Um, but she, people were like, this is weird casting.

I thought they did. Okay. I, I mean, Nikki Reid is gorgeous, so that’s not a problem. But they just dyed her hair blonde. Yeah. And everyone went blonde. Like, you know Carlisle, who’s played by Peter Elli, he’s he a dark haired guy. Right. And they made his hair blonde. So big deal. Um, so, but that was kind of a big deal.

And then, well, real quick, uh, you know, who cares? Uh, red from, uh, Shawshank Redemption was supposed to be a white Irish dude. Right? Right. And they cast Morgan Freeman. Here’s the thing about [00:45:00] when something becomes a phenomenon, everybody has an opinion, right? Like, when you have something in your mind about who’s supposed to play the character, and if they don’t perfect it, just like I was talking about Tom Cruise to play, lest like when Interviewer the Vampire was being developed as a movie, you know, there’s a lot of commentary about he should not be playing this.

And even Anne Rice was like, he should not be, you know, people have a vision. Mm-hmm. And someone has to like. You know, they, it makes it harder. Yeah. They have to prove themselves. Yeah. Having to act out someone who’s still alive or someone who’s part of a big fan fiction would be really intense. No doubt.

I’m, I, I don’t know if I would want to do that. So, um, let’s see if there’s anything else of importance, I guess random facts. I could talk real briefly about Kristen Stewart and Robert Paton’s relationship. Um, I was gonna save that for WTF. Okay, then let’s just save that. All right. Are we ready for WTF?

Let’s go. Boy, that escalated quickly. I mean, that really got outta hand [00:46:00] fast. It jumped up a notch. It did, didn’t it? All right. In no particular order. So let’s start where you just left off. Okay. Um, Kristen and Robert dated. Yeah. Now the director had to tell Robert, Hey, dude. She’s 17 when they were, um, filming this.

Okay. And by law, if he’s gonna have sex with her, which he may or I don’t know if he did or didn’t. That’s statutory rate. Okay. So that’s a little messed up. Which is also, so when you say the director, like he didn’t know she was 17. Like I’m confused reminding her because it was obvious there’s some chemistry building between these two actors.

Right. And the director had to say, dude, she’s 17. Just pay mind. Yeah. Pay mind. Yeah. Um, Edward watch. Oh, so another WTF is, I already talked about it. Edward. Just watching Bella asleep before they’re even dating. It’s a little weird every night. Oh, he would do it every night, huh? Yeah. Okay. He, once he [00:47:00] found himself attached to her, he would go watch her sleep.

Because remember, like even in the movie, she wakes up a few times and thinks she sees him. Yep. And she’s like, I’m dreaming about Edward. She wasn’t, yeah. He was there. Um, my other big one, and this is kind of a plot point, the Cullen family is like, okay, I guess she’s part of the family when it really exposes the vulnerability mm-hmm.

Of the family. So maybe in the book they talk about it more, but I’m surprised how Okay. They are. And then they, they include that one little line that says, you know, this is at Edwards person. Yeah. So we welcome them in Yeah’s part of the family now. Mm-hmm. But, but the other matchups between the Cullen people, they’re all vampires.

Right. So that’s not a big deal. Like is there like a dating app for vampires that haven’t kind of matched up? Like probably, yeah. So they call it, how often does a vampire match up with a human? I don’t know. You missed my joke though, that they call it blood. That’s the name of the app. Um, I don’t know.

Sorry, I [00:48:00] don’t babet think there is an app for vampires. ’cause I don’t think vampires are real well in the world of Twilight. Yeah. I just wonder how these vampires kind of connect. Well, I mean, they can sniff each other out. They know where they live. Like, you know, you know about the volter and mm-hmm. You know, they know where.

People are, yeah. Like vampires are aware of where other vampires are. Yeah. That’s not like a big secret. Yeah. Um, so, okay, that’s all I got for WTF. Okay. So, as you mentioned, Kristen Stewart and, um, Robert Pattinson started dating and let’s just assume they picked up when she was 18. Okay. Okay. So we don’t have to play that game of did they do something wrong?

Yep. So they started dating after the first movie and they were, you know, obviously tried to keep it private, but everyone was so obsessed with them and they never really had the opportunity just to have their own relationship. They were dating all the way through all the movies. Um, and they actually lived together.

And, you know, Christian Stewart, I just saw her on Howard Stern a little bit ago and he asked her about it and she’s like, I’ve never [00:49:00] talked about it, not because. I have any bad blood about it or anything, bad blood. Um, but because it was never our story, like we just couldn’t talk about it with people, you know, everyone would make it such a big deal.

Yeah. That I had to just, you know, but she’s like, he was my first love. Yeah. You know, we had a real, real loving relationship. So, um, and then in 2012, um, Kristen Stewart was doing the movie Snow White and The Huntsman, and she was directed by this guy named Rupert Sanders. And she was caught by, I think paparazzi, like kissing him in his car, if I remember correctly.

And so it became kind of national news. And she did this like public apology to Robert Pattinson. Yeah. And that public apology was the first con confirmation of their relationship they had ever done. So it was all very uncomfortable. They reconciled for a while in 2013. But the part of this story that is, so WTF is, [00:50:00] um.

Our president decided to get involved in this story. Um, and actually, let’s just let Kristen Stewart tell the story. I sent you a clip. Yep, I got it. Okay. You ready? Mm-hmm. I’m a little nervous to be hosting because I, I know that the president’s probably watching and, um, I don’t think he likes me that much.

Here’s how I know. Four years ago I was dating this guy named Rob, um, Robert, and, uh, we broke up and then we got back together and for some reason it made Donald Trump go insane. Um, here’s what he actually tweeted, and, and this is real Robert Patent Station, not take by Kristen Stewart. She cheated on him like a dog, and we’ll do it again.

Just watch. He can do so much better. She keeps going. Should I let it go? Now I know what you’re thinking. Right? That’s so crazy. The p the president tweeted about you once? No, no, no. The president tweeted about me 11 times. Um, he also said, everyone knows I’m right that Robert Pattinson should dump Kristen Stewart [00:51:00] in a couple years.

He’ll thank me. Be smart, Robert. And you can, it goes, I know it goes on, because then she talks about how then Robert, then Trump says something like, I’m having, I’m doing the Miss Universe pageant, Robert Pattinson, why don’t you come join me? And she’s like, I think he’s in love with him. Yeah. You know? Um, but anyway, so it’s just, that’s crazy.

So, um, I think that’s it for my WTF. I think that’s the highest WTF that you can possibly give. Are you ready for the next one? Oh, do you got another wt? No, no, no, no. The next, uh, category, what is the next category? Hidden Gems. Okay. Woo. Good choice,

remember? Alright, so Hidden Gems. Uh, I came up with this category and it’s just anything in the movie that is either not obvious or just a nice little surprise. And mine, I don’t [00:52:00] really have anything super big in this category, and maybe you have something sweetie. Uh, first of all, I think, is this the first time I saw Anna Kendrick in a movie?

Possibly. And obviously she’s, I mean, we’ve seen so many things that we love. What was that scary one that we saw about a Woman of the Hour or something Woman? So scary, I can’t remember. But it was a Netflix show. And then the Native American man, uh, was the, uh, Billy Black. Billy Black, but he’s also the guy from.

Dances with wolves and Yellowstone. Oh yes. I recognize him from Yellowstone. So anyways, I just thought that that was, those are my hidden jebs, those two actors. So are you sure he’s the guy in, he’s not kicking bird. I think he is kicking bird. No, he’s not. That’s a different guy. I promise you. That’s Graham something.

Okay. ’cause he was nominated for an Academy of work. No, I could, I could possibly be mistaken. Mm-hmm. Um, so anyways, I do, but I do think he is the guy in Yellowstone. Yeah. I think we could be wrong. No, he’s definitely the one in Yellowstone. Okay. I know that all. Um, you know, unfortunately my hidden gem, you already said it, which [00:53:00] is fine.

Which is, I stepped on your category, sweetie. Sorry about That’s okay. Um, it’s that Robert Pence and songs are in the movie. Um, the first one is called ne uh, never Think. And During the Restaurant Scene and the other one’s called Let Me Sign. Mm-hmm. And they’re really powerful. They’re good. All right. He’s got, when I first listened to those songs, I was like, that’s his voice.

Like it’s very different. And you are a big fan of, uh, his music? No. No. Mm-hmm. No, no. He and Suki Waterhouse are now together, and they Oh, who’s Suki Waterhouse? They, she has a, they have a child. She, I feel like I remember that lady. You do? She was in Daisy Jones in the six. She was the Oh yeah, the player, the piano player, Blondie.

Mm-hmm. Yeah, I remember her. Mm-hmm. Um, okay. Are we ready for the next one? Okay, go ahead. Uh, what is the next one? It’s time. New category.

Grass is growing. Um, so this is, um, if there’s any part of the [00:54:00] movie that you just kind of don’t like or thought was stupid or just wanted to skip over, um, what might that be? And for me, uh, it’s kind of all over the place, but the. Just the way Edward is always in pain. Mm-hmm. Looking at Bella. It’s just annoying, but it’s not like I can go pee during that ’cause it happens during the entire movie.

Okay. Um, so the, this category is about a scene that we could leave for a bit, or it’s about a part that we could move out of the movie. Exactly. And then the only part is, and maybe you like it, just the whole sparkle thing. I’m just like, he shimmers, he does shimmer and it’s, it’s also kind of annoying that, that it, um.

It’s so against vampire rules. Yeah. So it’s a little annoying. I thought I knew the rules and now well, I kind of feel like we stayed away a little bit or we moved away from that whole thing where you’re [00:55:00] talking about the cult, the you, you keep making those sounds. Do you know that? I do. What is that? Uh, it’s me putting the mouse adapter back in.

Got it. Okay. ’cause that’s like, it’s been like three times. It’s fine. It doesn’t hurt my ears or anything. I just didn’t know if you knew it was happening. Um, so we kind of moved away from why the cullins accept her. Um, and I think part of the reason they accept her is because they have been with Edward for over a hundred years and he has not had a partner.

Right. And so I think if he’s coming home and saying, Hey guys, I found someone I’d like to be with, they’re going to be pretty thoughtful. Sure. And now Rosalie doesn’t like it. No. Jasper is freaking out. ’cause Jasper is what we call a baby vampire and he doesn’t have the control. He’s brand new. He’s brand new.

So here’s the, here’s a funny thing about Carlisle. Carlisle is a doctor. So he works with blood all day long. Mm-hmm. He can, he has a high tolerance, no problem. And you, he can curb his compulsion. He can curb his compulsion. And you may have already said this, but the Cullins are vegetarian [00:56:00] vampires. They means they eat beer, blood, which means they, they do not eat people.

Um, and so he’s like taught them how to control their themselves. Now Jasper, he’s just not there yet. No. Jasper is a big part of New Moon. At the very beginning of New Moon, um, ed, or excuse me, Bella is opening a birthday gift. She cuts her finger on some wrapping paper and Jasper. Leaps for her. Oh boy.

Yeah. And so it kind of starts this whole chain of events. Does, does Jasper and the rest of the vampires, uh, think Bella smells as good as Yes. Edward does. Yes. There’s actually a scene in the movie where Alice goes, oh my gosh, Edward, she does smell as good as you said. Oh, interesting. So they all know she smell.

And if you remember the baseball scene, which, which is my favorite scene, but we’ll get to that, is when, um, Laurent and James and Victoria show up, they’re kind of trying to hide Bella, and they almost get away with it. And then this wind comes mm-hmm. And blows in it, like, [00:57:00] you know, they do it in slow motion and the, the wind kind of goes toward James and he can smell Bella.

Yeah. And so it’s a big part of her. She’s powerful in some way. Sure. Which we don’t know until breaking Dawn how that goes. Um, so my, so what’s my part that I think we could do without? Yeah. What’s the time to move on? Okay. So. I, I have so many as well. I think I will just choose a line that in the book didn’t bother me, but when Jacob did it, it was pretty bad.

Which one? So I, I sent you the clip so you can play it. Um, well, I mean, you sent me a lot of clips. Well, I think it’s this one. One, Jacob? Yeah.

Bella. Where the hell have you been loca?

Oh, that’s it. That’s it. Oh. Why, why does he call her loca? Well, that’s the thing in the book. I mean, he’s, he lives on the reservation. Mm-hmm. And [00:58:00] he, I, I think it’s supposed to mean like. You crazy girl. Okay. Do you know what I mean? Kind of like, but he doesn’t land it very well. Like Loko in Casa. I think so, yeah.

Some of the writing reminds me of some bad Star Wars writing. Yeah, it’s, that’s exactly it. And so I also don’t like the Spider Monkey line that Edwards says, but these have become like, as Skyler would say, can

you better hold on tight Spider Monkey? Like Yeah. It’s a little cringey. They’re canon. You know what I mean? Yeah. So it’s like, part of, and, and I also, I think the last part that bothers me is the seniority played where he’s like, say it. Yeah. I I, it’s annoying. Yeah. In the book, it didn’t bother me. Yeah. It really didn’t.

And it’s an, so the thing is, is the music is so good in that part of the movie, and basically just to kind of like set it up. Bella almost dies. And you know, or he saves her, Edward saves her, and then she tries to figure out how did he [00:59:00] save me? And he had superhuman strength. He stopped a car and then she starts to read and talk to Jacob about the old, the history of the Cullins and all this superstitious stuff.

And then Edward finds her. It’s like all these things happen. She figures out he’s a vampire. So she gets to school that day and just kinda walks to the forest and he follows her. And then that’s when that whole scene happens. So it’s a powerful lead up. Yeah. But the actual execution is, uh, it’s kind of embarrassing for me to watch.

Yeah. Yeah. Okay. So that’s my answer. All right. I’ll be ready to roll in the deep. Can I do my werewolves? Sure. Let’s do some werewolves. Okay. Are you ready? I’m ready. All the top five werewolves. Okay. So I have. Six. Oh, so, so you have top, you have six in each of your top fives? Correct. Okay. I couldn’t not, so, number six, have you ever seen an American werewolf in London from 1981?

No. Uh, so David Knots in the movie and it was, I should, I saw it way too early. I was too young and really, I don’t know if I even [01:00:00] saw the whole movie. I know that he was, he was an American going to London. Um, he was a student and he was bit by a wolf when he was with his friend. But anyway, he turns into a vampire, or excuse me, into a werewolf, and John Landis directed it.

Okay. Okay. That’s important for you to know. Okay. Um, are you gonna play something? I’m gonna play this. Yes.

I think this is one of those songs that everybody loves. Everybody loves this song. What song does this, what movie does this? What movie does this song remind you of? Uh, the Color of Money. Very good. He just gotta wait for the words werewolf, the Chinese menu in his hand. There’s a lot in that first line.

He saw a werewolf with a Chinese menu in his hand. Yeah. Walking through soho in the rain. Yeah. Um, okay, next one is, this is one you might not have seen. I saw this movie in fifth grade at my friend Jody’s House, silver. I shouldn’t have seen it. No. But close it was called The Howling. Okay. [01:01:00] And is that a c Stephen King thing?

It, it was not. Um, but D Wallace was in it. And you guys might know D Wallace from et She’s the mom. Oh yeah, I remember that. Right. And in the howling, her name is Karen. And the, it, again, when I was young, I didn’t really understand what was going on. But what I knew is at, at the, she had finally gotten bitten.

She was a journalist and she was trying to like, tell this story and help people. And at the very end, you’re not, you thought she got bit, but then you’re like, maybe she didn’t. Mm-hmm. And then she went on the news at the very end and she said, I have a report for us tonight, and I want everyone to pay really close attention.

And then she starts to turn into a werewolf. Oh, on tv. On TV. To prove to everybody this is really a thing. Yeah. And then they shoot her. Okay. So that’s terrible. Terrible. With a silver bullet. Probably. Probably. That was also in 1981. So 81 was a big year for, for werewolves. Um, number four was, this is kind of, this doesn’t.

It’s not exactly right, but it is Stephen King. It’s Cujo. Okay. Cujo wasn’t really a [01:02:00] werewolf, but he was a dog. Does that count? Not at all. Okay. But I thought it was cool ’cause d Wallace was also in Cujo. That is cool. But you can’t put Cujo in your werewolf. Top six, sweetie. Come on. Okay. Then I just have five.

You take Cujo out. All right. Okay. Uh, number three is Michael Jackson and Thriller. Oh, interesting. And the reason why I want you to pay attention to the American Werewolf in London is John Landis also directed Thriller. John Landis really appreciated. And so Rick Baker, who did the makeup in American Werewolf in London, did the makeup for Thriller.

So they basically did the exact same thing.

And Werewolves can dance. Rick Baker also did the makeup for Texas Chainsaw Massacre. See, Rick Baker was one of a kind. And also in summer school, the classic movie. What did he do in summer school? There’s a part where, uh, chainsaw and Dave, uh, uh, pretended they were getting killed by killer rabbits. Right.

I [01:03:00] remember that scene. Yeah. But then that’s Rick Baker didn’t do that. Oh, he did? Are you lying to me? I’m not lying to you. And there’s also a whole nother part where they creep out their teacher and they all have all this. Heavy, scary makeup going. Okay. So Rick Baker, did summer school, one of the best films in the last 40 years.

Okay. Uh, number two. Yeah. I have Jacob Black who is in Twilight. Yes. Um, I am not team Jacob. And you aren’t either. Oh, I am. Are you really? Team Jacob? Oh, yeah. You know who’s team Jacob is Maddy. Yeah. I love mad. I know. She’s like, yeah, yeah. I’m Team Jacob. And you know what? I get it. He’s, he’s a good guy and he’s protective and thoughtful and he’s a good friend.

So is Team Jacob the one who’s closest in the one versus two ranking as opposed to Team Peta and Team Gail and Team? Jeremiah. Jeremiah, team Conrad. And then I feel like there’s one other team that we forgot about. Oh. Oh, there’s so many teams. There’s the Vampire diary [01:04:00] teams, there’s, I dunno that, so anyway.

Um, I feel like team Jacob is a close number too. It’s close, but no one really ever wanted them to end up together in New Moon. You’re grateful to him. But once Edward comes back, are you ready for a little Jacob? Sure. Forget it. She may need her toes someday. And let’s face it, I am hotter than you. Damn right.

He is. He is. The guy is chiseled because remember, Edward is very cold. He’s cold and he is skinny, doesn’t he? He’s not shredded like team Jacob. Team. Well, Edward looks pretty good. No, he is not. No. Okay. Well anyway, team Jacob. So little story about Taylor Launer who plays Jacob Black. He was cast. For the movie Twilight.

And he was kind of a young guy, and if you watch Twilight, he’s got like his long black hair and he’s just a, he looks like a kid. Yeah. He looks young. They said all along, we’re gonna cast somebody else for a new moon because we need somebody who can get buff. And Taylor Latner [01:05:00] said, give me a summer. Yep.

Let me work on my body. Oh, he worked on it. I’m growing and let me see what I can do. And he did a good job. Yes, he did. He got really ripped and he was able to be Jacob for all of the movies. Um, and he had quite the fame there for a while, dated our friend Taylor. He did, um, she, the OI mean, she’s written other things that are, um, about her making mistakes, but her only apology song had was written for Taylor Latner who played Jacob Black.

And it’s a song called Back to December. And it’s because she didn’t treat him very well at the, that was the, uh, bonus song that we saw in, um. Denver. That’s right. Went to see her. That’s right. And so it’s really lovely.[01:06:00]

One of my favorites. It is. And then when she was redoing her albums, um, because this was on the Speak Now album, she had Taylor Ner come be in her video Yeah. That she did. Where a, she was, she had a, a Vault song that she released and he was in the video and then he got on stage with her at the concert and he’s, he’s married now to a woman named Taylor.

Taylor and Taylor. That’s hilarious. I know. And they are kind of popular or they have a podcast and stuff. Anyway, just a little pop culture side note. Um, and then my number one, Todd, do you know who my number one Wolf is? I do. Because Do you wanna play a clip from his movie? Hey, how you doing? Hey dance.

You’ll have to ask my F1. Stay away from her tonight. I’m warning you style sweetie. Styles. What are we listening to? This is Teen Wolf Baby. Teen Wolf two. With Jason Baby. No, it’s Teen Wolf. One with Michael J. Fox. He’s about to see Booth. Yep. And you still want Dance with the Wolf? Whoa, whoa. Go, [01:07:00] go. Blow, blow, blow, blow.

See, he’s gonna do a dance. He public wants you. There is so many wrong things with this movie. Just keep it going. Oh, they’re gonna do the Wolf thing. I know, but people can’t see that. Sweet. I know, but I like it. It’s kind of the early version of the African and Eater dance from Can’t Buy Me Love From Can’t Buy Me Love.

Yep. So anyway, I am a big fan. Teen Wolf is, is such a bad movie. Please everybody understand that. I understand. It’s not like a great movie. Do I watch as Bad Teen Wolf a lot. Yes. And it’s not as bad as Teen Wolf too, which is a lot worse. Correct. And so it’s got that going for it. But I love Teen Wolf. Yeah.

And I think the whole thing is funny. Yeah. And I, I must have seen it at a time that I was just in a good mood. Yeah. Because the movie just lives in me as something funny. Okay. So that I think, is it, I don’t know what we were on. Um, we’re gonna roll in the deep in a second. Okay. Let’s do it. But I do wanna just promote Kathy’s amazing book called Restoring Our Girls.

Yes. It [01:08:00] was out earlier this year. And I also wanna promote, uh, Team Zen. Uh, we do, uh, Zen Parenting Live twice. Oh no. Once a month you do Women’s Circle Uhhuh, uh, once a month. Mm-hmm. Um, and then, uh, yeah, those are the two things. So now let’s roll in the deep

rolling in

you. Alright, uh, I got absolutely nothing for this. Okay. So just a few things that I’ll say about rolling in the deep. First of all, something that I really already kind of spoke to about why girls, teen Girls really liked this movie is it really has that emotional undercurrent of that kind of longing and danger and first love kind of vibe, right?

Mm-hmm. It’s like you want someone to want you that much. And I think women, you know, can relate to that as well, regardless of where they are in their life of this, of being desired is really lovely thing. Um, and girls felt really kind of seen by Bella because as we said, she was kind of [01:09:00] a loner. She was clumsy, she was an outcast, even though she’s not, you know, when she gets to that high school, everyone’s like, Bella, be my friend.

So, yeah, she’s not that much of an outcast. No, she’s doing fine for herself and she’s kind of blowing them off. Yeah, they’re trying to like get to know her and she’s like, I’m too busy. I like this vampire guy. Um, and then the, you know, the, the whole idea of being chosen by someone who sees you, like sees your soul.

Edward’s, like, I know who you are. I see who you are. You are a powerful person. I’m so into you. And to what do all people in the world want, no matter who you are to be seen, heard, and valued. Right? Oh yeah. And so it’s that kind of intensity that she loves. I also think it, you know, there was a lot of discussion and again, about this kind of repressed, um, desire in, you know, in our patriarchal world.

Like there this movie, Stephanie Meyers a Christian, and when she wrote the book, she knew they were not going to have any kind of premarital sex. Mm-hmm. That they [01:10:00] were going to, that him being a vampire keeps him from ke them getting physical because he’s afraid he’ll kill her. Yeah. And um, so it kind of made it this, you know, longing thing and this repressed desire.

Now, eventually they do, but, um, that’s, is she human or is she a vampire when they have sex? She’s human. When they have sex. Oh boy. But they are married. Oh, oh, so they get married. Um, how’s Charlie with all that? Oh, that’s a whole nother thing. Okay. Charlie, they’re not super, she’s 18. Yeah. When they get engaged, so it’s not great.

Yeah. Skyler Skyler’s 18. Come on. Correct. Stop it. Um, so there’s a lot of that. Now, the deep part is this, this obsessive thing. So I’ve used the word obsession and that can be a red flag in the real world. Like it can be a sign of an abusive relationship. It can actually be a sign of, um, a certain kind of love bombing.

You know, like where someone comes in and is like, I see you, I love you, you know, you’re all these things. To me that can be a really significant red flag in the real world. Um, and so. [01:11:00] Be outside of Twilight and 50 Shades of Gray and those kind of books. We have to be careful of somebody who is that way.

Right. I know.

Who, who, uh, I think they’re called Animo. Good job, baby. Yes. Um, so, so obsession and love are not the same thing. And because I talk to teenage girls a lot and I’ve been a teenage girl, sometimes we believe it is. Yeah. Sometimes we, like, I remember I had a boyfriend that was very, um, uh, jealous and possessive and we get really mad at me if someone else talked to me.

And then when he would like run away, and then when I’d find him again, he would be like, well. You know, it’s just ’cause I love you or whatever. Yeah. And that’s not really great. Two words to people like that. Yeah. Stop it. Yes. And so that’s not great. But, um, the, you know, it, this is just kind of, this is a fantasy book and so we try and [01:12:00] just Sure.

Roll with it. Right. Write it out. Um, and one of the scenes that I thought is kind of deep in the, in the book and the movie, but we couldn’t really, they didn’t spend a lot of time on it, is there’s a scene after the baseball scene where they, Bella realizes that she is going to be hunted by James, which is the bad vampire.

She, she and Edward are in the car and they’re driving really fast to get away and to make this whole plan and to tell Charlie she has to leave and they drive by her friends who are coming out of a restaurant. Yeah. And it’s like Mike and Angela and Jess and Eric, and she sees them. Mm-hmm. And it’s kind of in slow motion.

And it’s a moment of like, that’s a path I could have chosen. Mm-hmm. Like I could be with them and instead I’m running from a vampire who wants to kill me. Yeah. And I think for, even though it’s a fantasy movie, I found that to be a very poignant moment, I think when we’re teenagers or any point where we’re like, [01:13:00] I have to choose a path.

Yeah. Um, so I always thought that was deep. Well, we all know Bella is choosing the vampire path. Well, she definitely did. Yeah. Um, so I think that’s it for the real deep stuff. All right. Are we ready for this?

Nobody puts baby in a corner. All, uh, cringe. Your classic. Um, you’re probably not gonna be surprised I had to go with cringe. Yeah, it’s pretty cringey. I, I think cringe. I think cla, it’s classic to me, but I understand it’s a cringey movie. Yeah. Because I even still cringe. Yeah. But I love it. It’s like a, yeah.

You know, it’s one of those I love the cringe. I love the cringe. Um, alright, two things I want to ask before we play the music game in do trivia. Okay. Um, you wanna talk about 50 shades a little bit and Yeah. Is this like an extension of that? Like, for the adult, like what it is? What’s the deal? So basically what happened is in fan fiction, um, [01:14:00] this woman, she went by El l James, kind of like JK Rowling, you know, like she, so you wouldn’t know gender.

Um, she started a Twilight fan fiction and I think it was originally called something like Master of the Universe. And it was, it was about Twilight characters, but, um, she renamed them and they became, uh, Bella and Edward became Anna Steel and Christian Gray. Mm-hmm. And she posted it online and. 2011 and then took out the supernatural parts and made it into kind of like a real story.

And it just exploded and became this book that everybody needed to have. And it sold 150 million copies, became a movie in its own right. Um, and I have read the books, actually. I read, I liked the first book and the second book, I think I kind of did. But then the third one, I think I left at a, weren’t these books A resort?

And I was like, I’m bored. Weren’t these books around these types of books around when we were little kids, like, uh, Jackie Collins, was she an author that kind [01:15:00] of wrote sex books for adults? That was deemed not appropriate, but kind of s muddy, s muddy. Like, we can I, and, and when I use that word, I’m not trying to put anyone down.

I’m saying I read ’em. Yeah. So, you know, like it’s just, it’s the whole goal. 50 Shades of Gray is about him being into BDSM. Like Yeah, there’s a lot of, um, the whole thing is, and again, Anna is supposed to be like a virgin and she’s never been with anyone and Christian meets her and just, it’s just like Edward where he is like, you’re the one and I, I can’t, I have all these other things in my life, but you’re the one I love and it’s this intensity.

And then he’s really wealthy and so they, you know. Yeah. It’s all this stuff. So my other question that has nothing to do with the 50 Shades, it’s more about vampires in general. Okay. At any point in this movie series, do they ever turn into bats? Are there any bat sightings? Uh, no. Okay. No bats. So, so there’s no, uh, they’re not afraid of crosses.

Correct. They can be in the sun. Mm-hmm. They’re not [01:16:00] afraid of, uh, they don’t turn into bats. No. Garlic, no Holy water. No. So basically the only thing they do is eat blood. That’s the only thing that they’re doing that is vampire esque, which is very, so if I’m a vampire of Puritan, I’d be like. These guys aren’t vampires at all other than they drink a little bit of blood.

But who is the Vampire Puritan? That’s the thing is, I don’t know. I’m just making stuff up in Anne Rice’s books. I think she says the same thing. Like, I think that they can see themselves in the mirror. Like she kind of set, she, she changed the lore. Yeah. You know? Um, and I think a lot of people followed that.

And, and again, I can’t remember what happens in an interview with the vampire, like what? I know that they don’t turn into bats or anything like that, but there’s certain things that they can’t do, but for the most part, they pass as humans. So, um, we’re about to play the music game. Yes. Can you type your song in so I can kind of be prepared?

Sure. When it’s your turn, where do I type it into? There’s a chat box on the, on the right hand side of your screen. Do you see chat on the right? No. Oh, maybe you don’t. Oh, wait, I see it. There you go. There was some. Okay. Um, um, so I’m gonna go [01:17:00] first. Okay. Just so we don’t keep everybody waiting. Go ahead. Uh, I’m a little, I’m proud of this pick.

Okay. But I also don’t think you’re gonna like it, but I’m gonna go anyways.

Alright. And I think that’s a great pick. Nice. Yeah. Because even in the video, Billy kind of looks like a vampire. Vampire. Yep. It’s you that I adore. You’ll always be my whore. You’ll be a, a lovely girl. Well, we didn’t call Bella horse. I know. That’s the only part that doesn’t work, but he says we must never be apart.

Right. That’s very Edward like. So Yes. That’s a great pick. And just the whole vibe. It’s scary. Yeah. Yeah. And it’s ki yeah. It’s kind of a scary little song. So you, so, and you didn’t say, that’s Ava Adore by the Smashing Pumpkins. Yeah. Off of, uh, the album, A Door. Oh, and then this is your song. Oh. [01:18:00] So you already did that.

Good. Thank you. And then I’m just gonna go here.

What’s the name of the song, babe? It’s called You Found Me By The Fray. Okay. And why is this the, your offering for the music game? Um, because it was a song that came out around the time that I watched the movies, um, play the chorus. Is this it? Mm-hmm.

Have to wait. Where are you? Where are you? Just a little late. So it’s not about. Anything that twilight’s about Yeah. You’re taking liberties with the, but I remember it being popular around this time and it talks about, you know, you found me and like, you know, I needed you. All that kind of stuff. It’s like [01:19:00] there’s an intensity.

It’s got that early 2000 sound. Yeah. Do you remember the fray? Sure. Like, I know barely, but never. And so I always like try and find a song that relates to what we’re talking about. That’s also from that time period if possible. Which actually you’re not that off with Ava Adore. Like, that came out in early two thousands, right?

Uh, late nineties, I think. Late nineties. Okay. Maybe early two thousands. But anyway, it’s not, I, I really struggled with this because the songs that I think of when I think of Twilight are from Twilight. Mm-hmm. And that’s cheating, don’t you think? Yeah, because it’s gotta have the vibe. Right. So in this one, I like my song, but I think yours wins.

Oh, wow. Look at that. Finally, I got a obvious one. Wait. Mean finally, you’ve won a ton of times in the first three weeks. We’ve been in this like 14 weeks. Mm. Um, okay. You ready for a little trivia? All right. Um, first I’m gonna ask you, uh, and this isn’t trivia, but just help everybody understand, I’m gonna name the Vampire.

You tell me their special powers. Okay, Edward. Uh, he can read people’s minds. Carlisle, uh, he’s just the, [01:20:00] the dad. He doesn’t have a special power. I thought all vampire states. No. Mm-hmm. Oh, okay. No, not all of them. Esme. Um, Esme doesn’t have a special power. Oh, interesting. I thought everybody did. Alice, Alice can see the future, but it also, her, her, what she sees can change based on what people are doing.

Uh, Emmett, um, he’s just really strong. Uh, Rosalie. Uh, Rosalie doesn’t have a special power. Jasper. Jasper can change people’s feelings. Oh, interesting. So he can go in and evolve people’s feelings. Uh, James, James is like a first rate tracker. Okay. He can like track people. Victoria, uh, gosh, I don’t remember if Victoria has something special.

I don’t remember. Lauren. Lauren? No. Laurent. Mm-hmm. Okay. So you’re ready for the trivia? Yes. Here we go. Uh, you fill in the next, uh, line. Okay. This is Edwards talking. What if I’m not the hero? What if I’m the blank? Either the villain or the monster. The bad guy. Okay. Yeah. Uh, how many [01:21:00] days did principal photography last for this movie?

Um, probably not very long. I’ll give you plus or minus 10 days. Principal photography. I’m just gonna say minus because No, guess the amount of days, sweetie. Oh, oh, you’re gonna gimme plus or minus. Yeah. I thought you meant below. 10 or above. Okay. Um, guess how many days? Uh, 30. Uh, 44. So you meant, sorry about that.

Uh, by four dance. Uh, what book is Bella Reading in class when Edward speaks to her? Uh, Romeo and Juliet. Good job. What color are the colors? Eyes when satiated. They’re kind of like a gold golden slash amber. Yeah. What color are their eyes when they’re thirsty? Black. Very good. What does Edward say Bella’s scent is like?

Uh, my own brand of heroin. Heroin. Very good. Uh, what is Jacob’s heritage? He’s Collette. Very good. What is James special ability? You already said that he’s a tracker. What subject does Carlisle say? Edward excels in? Ooh. [01:22:00] Uh, gosh, I don’t remember. This may not be true. It says music. Well, he does. He plays, uh, he writes a song for Bella called Bella’s Lullaby and he plays the piano.

Um, what was the US release date? Oh gosh, April, 2008. The only reason I ask this question is because it’s on a very special day in our family. March 31st. November 21st. Oh, that’s Cameron’s birthday. November 21st, so I thought it was in the spring. That’s why I assumed. So this is the day Cameron turned one.

Yay. Was when that, and the reason you probably couldn’t go out and see it that day is ’cause we’re having a 1-year-old birthday party for our kid. I bet. And you went to it with a headache instead. Yes. The next day, uh, what I, this can’t be true. What actress turned down Bella before? Kristen Stewart? No idea.

Says Jennifer Lawrence. It says she auditioned. Maybe I, I think she did audition. I saw an interview with her and she did. What fast food chain did Robert Pattinson say he lived on while filming? Mm, well they’re in Seattle. Yeah. This can’t be [01:23:00] true. It says in and out. They don’t have any in and outs in Washington, do they?

I don’t think so. I don’t think so either. What song, what? Who sings the song during the iconic baseball scene? Muse. Very good. And then what is Edwards adoptive mother’s name? Esme. Very good job. Very good sweetie. You did great. Yeah, so you’ve at least gotta close out the show. The show with super massive Black Hole, which is Muses song.

Uh, we talked last week, I think, no, a few weeks ago. We did our favorite. Song drops. Yeah. In any movie. Yeah. Or in any TV show. And my number one was super massive black hole. So, um, to close out October, we are gonna be talking about the haunting of Hill House. Mm-hmm. We don’t know what we’re gonna do next week.

So if anybody has any ideas, send me an email at Todd at Zen pop parenting.com and then we’re just gonna close out with this, uh, baseball scene. I know you cheat. Oh, oh no, it’s good. Keep it there. Good. Mm-hmm. Calm as you see him, Bella. [01:24:00] Okay. See you next week, everybody.

Okay. Now I see why you need this under.

That’s gotta be a home run. Right. Edward’s very fast.

Round two. Change a little bit. And change a little bit. Pretty pleasant.
